General in connection with the digital exhibition platform
We process personal data that you disclose to us in connection with the use of our digital exhibition platform or that we collect from you when using the digital exhibition platform, in particular for the following purposes:
− in general for the use of our digital exhibition platform and, in particular, for communication and interaction with you;
− to survey of your interests as a customer;
− to analyse your user behaviour on our exhibition platform;
− to improve our products and services;
− to provide and deliver advertising in connection with our products and services to you.
We process your personal data for the above purposes, depending on the situation, based on the following legal bases:
− the processing of personal data is necessary for the performance of a contract to which you are a party;
- you have given consent to the processing of your respective personal data;
- the processing of personal data is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which we are subject; or
- the processing of personal data is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by us. Our legitimate interests are, in particular, to provide to you our digital exhi-bition platform and our offers, to promote our offers to you and to improve our products and services. Depending on the case, we may also have other legitimate interests.
2.2 Cookies
Our digital exhibition platform uses so-called cookies. Cookies are text files that are stored in or by the internet browser on the computer system or a mobile device of the user. The cookie contains a characteristic string that allows the browser or mobile device to be identified unambiguously when the website or app is visited again.
The purpose of the use of cookies is, on the one hand, to enable and simplify the use of our exhi-bition platform for users. Some functions of our exhibition platform cannot be offered without the use of cookies (so-called technically necessary cookies). On the other hand, we also use cookies to analyse user behaviour on our exhibition platform, namely for range measurement and market-ing purposes.
2.2.1 Technically necessary cookies
Technically necessary cookies are required for our exhibition platform to function. Therefore, these cookies cannot be deactivated. They usually record important actions, such as the number of re-quests made, the editing of your privacy settings or when you fill out forms. Although you can block these cookies in your browser, some parts of our digital exhibition platform may then no longer function.
The legal basis for the data processing when using technically necessary cookies is our legitimate interest, which lies primarily in ensuring the functionality and improvement of our digital exhibition platform.
2.2.2 Analytical and marketing cookies
Analytical cookies allow us to analyse visitor behaviour and traffic sources so that we can measure the performance of our trade platform and improve the user experience. They help us to identify how popular which pages are and indicate how visitors move around our digital exhibition platform. The information collected is aggregated and anonymous.
Marketing cookies allow us to deliver advertising that is relevant to you. These cookies may re-member that you have visited our digital exhibition platform and share this information with other companies, including other advertisers.
If we use cookies for analysis and marketing purposes, we obtain your consent to do so. The processing of data for analysis and marketing purposes is therefore based on your consent. After giving your consent, you can revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future. However, this does not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out on the basis of the consent until the revocation. You can express your revocation at any time by adjusting the cookie settings.
You can also object to the use of cookies, for example, (i) by selecting the appropriate settings or deleting cookies in your browser, (ii) by using appropriate cookie blocker software (e.g. ghostery etc.) or (iii) by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link regard-ing cookies from Google: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de. - Disclosure of personal data to recipients and abroad
In addition to the transfers of data to recipients expressly mentioned in this privacy policy, we may disclose the personal data collected in accordance with this privacy policy to the following catego-ries of recipients:
- service providers to whom we have outsourced certain services (e.g. IT- and hosting pro-viders);
- suppliers;
- agents of ours who are involved in the implementation or organisation of events and sem-inars.
Your personal data may also be transferred abroad in connection with these disclosures to recipi-ents, primarily to member states of the European Union, EFTA, England and the USA, but also to other countries worldwide under certain circumstances. - Duration of storage
We process and store your personal data only for as long as it is necessary under the relevant purpose of processing or if there is another legal basis for doing so (e.g. statutory retention peri-ods). We retain personal data that we hold on the basis of a contractual relationship with you for at least the duration of that contractual relationship and the limitation periods for potential claims by us or based on contractual retention obligations. As soon as your personal data are no longer required for the above-referenced purposes, they will be deleted or anonymised as far as possible. - Your rights
Under the data protection law applicable to you and to the extent provided for therein, you have the right to information, rectification, deletion, the right to restrict data processing and otherwise to object to our data processing as well as to receive certain personal data for transfer to another provider (so-called data portability). Please note, however, that we reserve the right to assert the statutory restrictions on our part, for example, if we are obliged to retain or process certain data, if we have an overriding interest in this (to the extent we are entitled to rely on such interest) or if we need the data in order to assert claims.
If the data processing is based on your consent, you can revoke this at any time after giving your consent with effect for the future. However, this does not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out on the basis of the consent until revocation.
The exercise of such rights generally requires that you clearly prove your identity (e.g. by means of a copy of an identification document, where your identity is otherwise unclear or cannot be ver-ified). In order to assert your rights, you may contact us at the address specified in section 1.
In addition, every data subject has the right to enforce his/her rights in court or to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection authority. The competent data protection authority in Switzer-land is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (http://www.edoeb.admin.ch). - Data security
We have implemented numerous technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data from unauthorised access, misuse, loss, and destruction. Especially, we use partial encryption during data transmission (SSL/TLS encryption) and have implemented further safeguards to en-sure the most thorough protection possible of your personal data processed via our digital exhibi-tion platform. - Amendments to this privacy policy
We expressly reserve the right to amend this privacy policy at any time. We will immediately publish the amended privacy policy on our digital exhibition platform if such amendments are made. The privacy policy published on our digital exhibition platform shall apply from time to time amended.
